This 1990 Score set had some great subset cards of Bo Jackson. I've featured a few of them on this blog like the "Ground Force" & "Record Breakers" cards, but this is the base card from the set. The photo on the front is a little lack luster as it shows Bo either slipping on the turf or being tackled by a gaggle of Bengal defenders. I've noticed that a lot of Bo football cards from around this time feature him running against the Bengals. I wonder why that is? The photo on the back is fine, would have liked to see more stats/info instead of a large helmetless photo. Overall it's a pretty "Meh" card.

The photo on the front of this card is solid. The graphics on the front are fine, but the back of this card is where it shines. I always like to see the "candid" photos of our favorite superstars captured on cardboard. Look at that million dollar smile. Pretty sure that's what he looks like right before he embarrassingly runs you over to score an 80 yard touchdown.

The artwork on this Team MVP card is fantastic! I like the illustration of Bo and the minimalistic background really helps to make the image pop! This card highlights the tandem of Marcus Allen & Bo Jackson, showing how they led the Raiders to the 5th best rushing offense in 1990. These feats helped earn Bo his first Pro-Bowl birth that year. I can only imagine how many more there could have been?

I remember my friend's grandma was having a yard sale and she had boxes of 1990 Score football cards for $10 each. I had to have one of them! So, I did a crazy amount of household chores in a short amount of time to get the money to buy a box. This was one of the cards I pulled from that box and it is one of my favorite Bo cards. How can you not love a card that features one of the NFL's premiere power backs thundering down the field with a bolt of lightening striking in the distance? You can almost hear the electricity in this card. Someone really needs to bring back the "Ground Force" subset...like now!

This late 80's football card features 2 Heisman trophy winners in Marcus Allen & Bo Jackson! What a lethal 1-2 punch! Could you imagine being on defense and having to face these two brutal backs in the same game. Allen was more of a finesse runner while Bo was pure power. I love this card, just wish they would have gotten a photo of the 2 together kind of like FLEER did with their "Superstar Specials" subsets. Overall a great combo!

The 1989 Score set has always been one of my favorite 80's football sets. I like the colorful borders, the action shots and even the full cover large candid shots on the back are a nice touch. I know that most collectors recognize this set for the Barry Sanders rookie card, but this Bo card is not one to be overlooked.

I like this "Speedburner" subset card from the 1989 Score football set. The photo on the front is okay, but the back of the card really shines with it's cool looking logo graphics and stats from Bo's collegiate career as a track star! Did you know Bo was a 2-time Alabama State Decathlon champion in high school or that he set state records in the 60 & 100 yard dashes, 60 & 120 yard hurdles, the long jump and the high jump? He also lettered in indoor track twice at Auburn and once in outdoor track. Truly, Bo was the greatest athlete of our time!

The design of this set was very unique and unusual to me back when it was released in 1994. I like the clean design and the little "computer" inspired graphics are totally 90's. The backs were nice and feature a nice candid shot of the player, full stats, a recap of Bo's triumphant return to the game after hip surgery and a quote from Frank "The Big Hurt" Thomas, make this card an excellent addition to my Bo card collection!

This card commemorates Bo Jackson's 92-yard touchdown run against the Cincinatti Bengals in week 9 of the 1989 NFL season. At this point Bo was the only NFL running back to have ever ran for multiple 90 yard runs. His other run came in 1987 against the Seahawks. I find it odd that the card talks about his record breaking run against the Bengals, but the photo on the front shows him eating up Broncos defenders. Why would they do that? Was this shot more dynamic? Did Score not have a shot from that game? Maybe it was a mistake by the company? Either way, it's a nice looking card that shows off the dominating run skills Bo had back in the late 80s/early 90s!

This is a pretty cool looking card from early in Bo's career. The shot on the front of the card perfectly captures that moment of action where bat is milliseconds away from hitting speeding fastball. The layout of the graphics is kind of blah, but not terrible. The back features an unimpressed photo of Bo followed by a great set of stats. I was on the hunt for this card for a long time as a kid and one magical day, I opened a pack of 1990 Score and BAM I was given this great card. Not a bad pull at all!

I'm usually not a fan of the landscape style of baseball cards. They always look clunky when you put them in your binder next to the other cards, but I will give this Score release a pass due to how well it is put together. The front features two action poses of Bo. The main photo is large and in full coloe, while the other is smaller and monotone. I like this because the smaller photo doesn't feel like it distracts from the main focus shot and it's there more as an accent. The back features limited stats and a nice "candid" shot of Bo in the dugout. Not a bad card from Bo's forgotten days as an Angel.

I really like this card. The front design is nice. It definitely is dated, but I kind of like the dark blue border with the small graphic touches near the name. The back has a great candid photo of Bo smiling and comes with complete stats, tells the story of him smashing a home run in his first at bat since hip surgery and includes a quote from Frank Thomas! Score really nailed it with this release!

This card was from a limited set put out by Score in 1989. This set highlighted a lot of the up and coming baseball stars including Bo Jackson. I like the front pic of Bo in the batters box. It's a nice angle that isn't used too often on Bo cards. The back includes a photo I know I have seen before in other Score offerings, but the layout is nice nonetheless. It includes stats, some decent coloring and a little blurb about Mr. Bo.

I have fond memories of this 1991 Score Baseball Card set. I asked for it for my birthday that year, mostly due to the fact that it included multiple Bo Jackson subset cards like the awesome "Bo Breaker" card and "Rifleman" card. What a cool looking set. Even the base cards had a nice design. I like the shot of Bo watching the ball after a hit on the front and the typical head shot on the back is nice due to the inclusion of the ballpark behind him. Solid card from one of my favorite sets.

As bland as baseball cards could have been back in the 80s, this set from Score may be the blandest. The front features little in the way of graphics and those that are there really don't stand out. The color choice seems a little off to me. Why not go with team colors instead of purple and orange. The photos are the standard batting stance and the back has shot I swear I have seen before in other Score offerings. All around, not one of my favorite cardboard iterations of Bo, but this still is a snapshot of him at his peak.

This card was a big one for collectors back in the day. It not only signaled Bo's transition from the Kansas City Royals to the Chicago White Sox, but it gave us all hope that he could return to the diamond and give us all just a few more flashes of the greatness he had before his hip injury. This card was hard to come by since it was from the Score Rookie & Traded set. This made it harder to track down than the standard issue set from that year. In the end, I found it online for a great price and now I can add this gem to my collection and for that, I tip my hat to you Mr. Jackson!

WHOA! Holy brain overload! This card from Score's 1994 Rookies & Traded set has a lot going on style wise. The colors are bold and bright, the logos are prominent on their own rock like color swatches and the photo is big, action packed and colorful! The back gives the same sort of energy with it's nice blue coloring and 2 pictures of Bo in the field and in a glamour shot. This was from Bo's last year in the league when he joined the California Angels and was far from his best statistical year, but there is something to be said about his longevity in the league after getting his hip replaced. He was a beast at the plate and a legend in the field. Oh, by the way did I mention that I really like this card?

This was another one of those early Bo Jackson/White Sox cards. After the gruesome injury that took Bo away from the gridiron and the release from the Royals, it was amazing to see Bo back on the field swinging away for our sports pleasure. I really like the colors of this card. I feel the purple helps the black and gray of the Sox uniform stand out. The back photo is also a nice touch. The shot of Bo giving a sly smile will always be one of my favorites.

I freakin' love this card! It shows Bo at his peak and gives us a glimpse at what could have been if that pesky hip injury never happened on the gridiron. In 1989 Bo was the star of stars when he grabbed MVP honors at the MLB All-Star Game. Bo smashed a home run off of Rick Reuschel in the first inning, drove in 2 RBI, scored 1 run and had a stolen base! Not bad on 4 plate appearances. What a great, iconic Bo Jackson photo on the back with him hoisting the MVP trophy. This is a great card from a nice early 90s set. A must have for any Bo collector!

Score has done it again! Here is another fantastic Bo card this time in Dream Team form. The card front is simplistic, but the photo stands out from the orange and yellow background beautifully and the back has an pretty eye pleasing design. I will forgive the lack of stats on the back since this is a subset and all the numbers were on the regular issue card. This is probably in the top 10 of the Bo cards I currently have in my collection.
