1995 Upper Deck #20

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Bought Online
This card shows off Bo Jackson during the twilight of his career on his last MLB stop as a member of the California Angels. He was only there for one season in 1994 and put up some decent numbers for a part time player with 13 home runs and 43 RBI. He even turned back the clock and stole a base! This offering from Upper Deck is pretty nice. I like the bronze colored foil on the front and the stats are decent, but it is once again, the photography that helps this card stand out in the binder.  The back shot is a nice candid of Bo covering the bases, but the front phot is easily my favorite. It looks like he just took a strike and he is informing the ump that the pitcher missed the strike zone by that much!

1995 Upper Deck Collectors Choice Special Edition #36

Type: Special Edition
Acquired: Bought Online
Nothing special to see here, just Bo giving you 2 tickets to the gun show! DAMN! That guy was jacked! No wonder he was able to be that unique combination of size, power and speed during his football & baseball career. Also, I'm sure his peak fitness helped in his recovery from what many deemed a "Career Ending" hip injury. Bo proved them all wrong and was able to continue his home run smashing ways for a few more seasons in the MLB. This card shows him in his twilight as a California Angel where he was able to knock out 13 home runs and bring in an additional 45 RBI.

1994 Fleer #U18

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Bought Online
I don't know why I have a fascination with Bo's years in an Angels uniform? It wasn't his peak, but there is something so magnetizing to me about these years? Maybe it's because it was the last time I'd ever see Bo play in the MLB or maybe it's the oddity of seeing him out there in a new uniform. Whatever it is, I appreciate the drive this man had to continue his professional career after many would have hung up the spikes. It gave kids like me the confidence that we could do anything as long as you believed you could. Thanks for the motivation Mr. Jackson and for the entertaining way you played the game with emotion and passion! By the way I like this card!

1994 Score Select #356

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Bought Online
I'm usually not a fan of the landscape style of baseball cards. They always look clunky when you put them in your binder next to the other cards, but I will give this Score release a pass due to how well it is put together. The front features two action poses of Bo. The main photo is large and in full coloe, while the other is smaller and monotone. I like this because the smaller photo doesn't feel like it distracts from the main focus shot and it's there more as an accent. The back features limited stats and a nice "candid" shot of Bo in the dugout. Not a bad card from Bo's forgotten days as an Angel.

1994 O-Pee-Chee #116

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Bought Online
This is the latest Bo Jackson card to my collection and let me say, I like it! I like the graphics and photo on the front of the card. I think we need more cards that show Bo in the outfield. His arm on defense was just as deadly as hit bat on offense, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of cards out there that highlight this overlooked aspect of Bo's game. The back is nice and has an intense looking photo of Bo on top of his total career stats! Let's not forget that this card is bi-lingual and includes a French translation to the English text! Nice card from the twilight of Mr. Jackson's career!

1994 Fleer #U18

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Bought Online
Here we have another 1994 Fleer product, but this one is from the Update series and depicts Bo in the last uniform he would wear in the MLB, as a California Angel. Just like the previous post, the layout of this card is very nice and I really like the photo on the back depicting Bo taking off after hitting the ball. Look at that determination in his face. It is still odd to see Bo in this uniform, but nonetheless it is a nice card featuring my favorite player in the twilight of his outstanding career.

1994 Fleer Flair #23

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Bought Online
I love the Flair brand by Fleer. The glossiness, the thick card stock and the abundance of gold foil made this one of my favorite brands of the 90s. Not to mention, the photography was fantastic and the graphics don't interfere with the overall look at all. I mean look at the double shot of Bo on the front, who would have thought these two action shots would work so well together. The card back is also excellent with it's abundance of stats and full card photo. Great design from an amazing set.

1994 Score #RT3

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Bought Online
WHOA! Holy brain overload! This card from Score's 1994 Rookies & Traded set has a lot going on style wise. The colors are bold and bright, the logos are prominent on their own rock like color swatches and the photo is big, action packed and colorful! The back gives the same sort of energy with it's nice blue coloring and 2 pictures of Bo in the field and in a glamour shot. This was from Bo's last year in the league when he joined the California Angels and was far from his best statistical year, but there is something to be said about his longevity in the league after getting his hip replaced. He was a beast at the plate and a legend in the field. Oh, by the way did I mention that I really like this card?

1995 Donruss #507

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Bought Online
I really like the design of this card. Even though this is from the tail end of Bo Jackson's career you can see the joy he had playing the game just by taking a look at the photo on the back. That smile says it all. I wish I was that happy at my job! Anyway, the front of the card also has a nice look to it from the post hit large photo to the warm up stance of the small photo in the left hand corner. It's clean, contains foil stamping and is an altogether solid card from Bo's years with the Angels.

1994 Pinnacle #509

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Bought Online
This card represents Bo Jackson's last year in Major League Baseball. In his final year Bo played in 75 games for the California Angels and batted .279 while driving in 43 runs on 13 dingers. This was a bittersweet ending for Bo as the season was cut short by 1994-95 baseball strike. At the age of 32 Bo officially retired and this card shows a glimpse of the greatness that he brought to the plate. It was always a special moment when Bo stepped to the plate. You never knew if it was gonna be a smashed ball to left or a 700 foot fly ball. I wonder where this pitcher's offering went in the picture shown on this Pinnacle card?

1995 Pinnacle #208

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Bought Online
This card comes from Bo's short time as a California Angel. He played 75 games for them and hit .279 with 13 home runs while driving in 43 runs at the age of 31. Actually those are not terrible stats for a guy on the back end of his career after hip replacement surgery. This card always stood out in my albums due to the strange choice of photo on the front. Were they really out of action shots that they had to choose this Bo in a hangar pic? The layout on the back is very nice though. The design fits a lot into the small space without it feeling cramped.

1995 Pacific Collection #61

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Purchased Online
This could quite possibly be my favorite Bo Jackson Angels baseball card. The design on the front is minimal, but still does the job. The back of the card is very eye pleasing also with career stats a nice design and crisp photos. Pacific may not be a juggernaut in the world of sports cards, but this series shines with it's nice photography and just a touch of foil stamping.

1994 Leaf Studio #12

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Bought Online
In my opinion this is one of the best Bo Jackson Angels cards out there. The photography on the front is crisp the locker room background doesn't seem out of place. The colors Leaf chose for the card really pop and the stats are adequate. Yes, it could have used more stats and I would have preferred the photo on the back be an action shot, but overall this is a very nice card that highlights the final season of Bo Jackson's career in the Major Leagues.

1994 FLEER Ultra #330

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Card Show
Here we go another blah Bo Jackson California Angels card...wait! What? I actually really like this card! I like the front photo of Bo fielding a pop fly. The graphics on the front are minimal and clean with just a hint of foil stamping. The back is put together nicely with the three unique photos showcasing Bo in the field and at the plate. The stats are minimal, but I don't feel like they are trying to cram too much info into a small space. Well done FLEER this is one of my favorite Ultra cards you have produced!

1995 Pacific Collection #20

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Purchased Online
How can you not love the prismatic effects on this card. It is almost blinding in it's beauty! The shot could have been better, but once again we get an over the shoulder look at Mr. Jackson during his California Angels days. The back photo looks like someone just said something that mad Bo angry. You wouldn't like Bo when he's angry. Also, It's interesting to me that the English verbiage is the smaller of the two languages on the back.

1995 Fleer #227

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Bought Online
As card designs go, this set is one of my least favorite. The back of the card is pretty nice with the closeup shot offset to the right and leaving space for the career stats on the left. It has a nice clean look and solid balance. The front on the other hand is kind of a mess! We have a nice photo of Bo swinging the hammer, but it is brought down a notch due to the psychedelic swirls of color in the background. If that wasn't enough, they decided to squeeze in an unnecessary second photo of Bo jogging the bases. It is all very distracting and could have been a decent card if they went with the simplicity of the batting photo without the crazy digital graphics. This is just my opinion though!

1994 Upper Deck Fun Packs #151

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Purchased Online
I really enjoy the look of these cards. I remember them being advertised in Marvel comics back in the mid 90s, but none of my usual card places carried them. This Fun Pack card was also one of the first times I had seen Bo in his California Angels uniform. I bought this online for about a quarter and am glad I did. The comic on the back alone is worth that!

1995 SportFlix #140

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Purchased Online
I really enjoyed the SportFlix brand of cards when they were introduced in the mid 80s. Not only did you get a photo of your favorite player on the front of the card, but you got an ambition of your favorite player hitting a home run or making a great catch. This was revolutionary! Then these cards disappeared for a few years from the market, only to return in the mid 90s! This time the cards had better graphics and more color added to the backs. We need more SportFlix on the shelves today!
