I remember my friend's grandma was having a yard sale and she had boxes of 1990 Score football cards for $10 each. I had to have one of them! So, I did a crazy amount of household chores in a short amount of time to get the money to buy a box. This was one of the cards I pulled from that box and it is one of my favorite Bo cards. How can you not love a card that features one of the NFL's premiere power backs thundering down the field with a bolt of lightening striking in the distance? You can almost hear the electricity in this card. Someone really needs to bring back the "Ground Force" subset...like now!

This late 80's football card features 2 Heisman trophy winners in Marcus Allen & Bo Jackson! What a lethal 1-2 punch! Could you imagine being on defense and having to face these two brutal backs in the same game. Allen was more of a finesse runner while Bo was pure power. I love this card, just wish they would have gotten a photo of the 2 together kind of like FLEER did with their "Superstar Specials" subsets. Overall a great combo!

I like this "Speedburner" subset card from the 1989 Score football set. The photo on the front is okay, but the back of the card really shines with it's cool looking logo graphics and stats from Bo's collegiate career as a track star! Did you know Bo was a 2-time Alabama State Decathlon champion in high school or that he set state records in the 60 & 100 yard dashes, 60 & 120 yard hurdles, the long jump and the high jump? He also lettered in indoor track twice at Auburn and once in outdoor track. Truly, Bo was the greatest athlete of our time!

This card commemorates Bo Jackson's one and only All-Star Game appearance in 1989. Not only was Bo voted into the game, but he won the MVP award due to his monster lead-off home run. In the end Bo drove in 2 runs, scored a run and stole a base in the 60th Mid-Season classic.

Score has done it again! Here is another fantastic Bo card this time in Dream Team form. The card front is simplistic, but the photo stands out from the orange and yellow background beautifully and the back has an pretty eye pleasing design. I will forgive the lack of stats on the back since this is a subset and all the numbers were on the regular issue card. This is probably in the top 10 of the Bo cards I currently have in my collection.

This card highlights Bo's achievement of knocking four consecutive home runs during the 1990 season. What is impressive is that he hit 3 HRs in one game against the Yankees, then due to injury, 40 days later he nailed another one 450 feet from the plate for his 4th in a row! Truly an awesome feat for a legendary player.

It's been a while since the last post here on The More You Bo. The holiday's took up a lot of my time, but we're back and better for 2019! Now to this week's card...I always loved these Superstar Specials cards, because it felt like you got more for your money. Not only did you get Bo on this card, but the Big Hurt Frank Thomas joined him too! Oh and two Orioles pitchers were also thrown into the mix to show off a few alums from Auburn University.

A few months ago we took a look at the 1992 Score RIFLEMAN card and just like that one I absolutely love this card! If you are a Bo collector this is a must have for your collection. The red laser graphical background was mind blowing in the 90s and it still gives me goosebumps today. The photo on the front is a nice action shot, but the back has an outstanding shot of Bo smiling while out on the diamond. Great job Score!

2005 Donruss Champions #127

This is one of the few Bo Jackson cards that I really don't care for. I feel like there is a huge waste of space on the front of the card. I know this is because there are relic variants of this cards with jersey swatches and such, but the base version just seems lack luster and lazy. The least they could have done id thrown up a second picture of Bo. The back is pretty standard. Not a lot of stats and minimal info.

1990 Fleer "Superstar Specials" #635

Here we go! These cards were the best. You put 2 baseball superstars together on 1 card and it is a must have! I grabbed this card because Bo was involved, but you cannot argue with the baseball greatness that was Kirby Puckett! Over 12 seasons in Minnesota, Puckett had lifetime BA of .318, 1085 RBIs and 2304 hits. In addition to his excellent batting stats, Puckett also won 6 Gold Glove awards. A great all-around player with the greatest athlete all on one 1990 card by Fleer! It doesn't get much better than that!

1986 Donruss Highlights #43

These "Highlights" cards were a great addition to the Donruss sets of the 80s & 90s. Mostly they showed off award winners and personal highlights such as no-hitters or league leaders. This one however features the exploits of one Bo Jackson and how he slugged the farthest home run in Royals Stadium history. I did know that Bo held that record for a while, but I didn't know that was his first Major League home run! What a way to say hello to the fans, opposing pitchers and the world! 

1990 Donruss Diamond King #1

Last week we looked at the 2005 Donruss Diamond King card of Mr. Jackson, this week we look at the original from 1990. A lot of people don't care for the look of this set, but I like it! It's recognizable from a mile away because of the bright red border and splatters of color. Compared to more recent releases the artwork on the cards isn't too amazing, but it still was a new and unique way to collect your favorite ball players back in the day. I still love finding these Diamond King cards in bargain bins or repacks!

2005 Donruss Diamond King #288

Back in the 80s & 90s it was euphoria when you would pull a "Diamond King" card out of your wax pack of Donruss cards. The art was great and you didn't get one in every pack. I am glad Donruss has kept up this tradition of recognizing the best players with a portrait and nice card design. This card is a little after Bo's time in the league, but I'm not complaining. He was one of the greatest athletes of all-time after all!

This is one of my favorite Bo Jackson cards of all-time! It shows off what Bo was all about in one sweet picture! He was powerful, a beast and very temperamental. With one swing of the bat he could knock a ball out of the park, with another he could miss completely and his bat would have to face the consequences. Score had some really great card designs in the 90s and this is a prime example of that creativity.

I adored this Score subset when it came out. The colors were vibrant, the graphics were high tech and the players they included were some of my favorites! I was able to "Score" this card from one of the many packs I had bought. My friends were in awe. Sure there were other great subsets in the 91 Score set like "The Franchise", "Dream Team" and "All-Stars". These were great looking cards also, but my favorite will always be the green, laser emblazoned Rifleman card of my favorite player Bo Jackson!
