1994 FLEER Golden Moment #5

Type: Insert Card
Acquired: Bought At Show
This insert card from 1994 highlights Bo's incredible return to baseball after a career threatening hip injury. It states that pretty much nothing can stop Bo from doing whatever Bo wants to do! It is a nice card with a simple design garnished with some gold foil stamping. This really was a Golden Moment not only for baseball, but for Bo fans across the globe.

1990 FLEER Baseball All Stars #20

Type: Limited Set
Acquired: Bought At Show
Here is a card that was from another mini set from FLEER. The design is kind of plain and the card back is just as dull. I do like the pin stripes on the front, but the color design leaves a lot to be desired. The shot of Bo is nice, but again it is nothing that we have never seen before in previous sets. The smear on the back...I can't remember where that came from. I've had this card since I was 8 so it is more than likely some Cheetos residue.

1993 O-Pee-Chee #151

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Purchased Online
This card was a surprise find. I always thought O-Pee-Chee cards were just Topps cards with a different logo. I looked it up and found that O-Pee-Chee and Topps entered into a marketing agreement in 1958. There was a sharing of Hockey and Baseball series up until the 90s. In 1990 O-Pee-Chee wanted to stand out in a crowded Hockey card market and created a premiere hockey series that was so popular it spun off a baseball series. These lasted until 1993. I've learned so much today and I hope you did too!

1988 Score #180

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Pulled From Pack
This is classic Bo. Look at that swing. You can tell that here is some major power behind that bat. Great action shot on a nicely designed card from a solid set. The back also doesn't disappoint. It has a nice staged picture of Bo, complete career stats and a crazy amount of write up on the mighty slugger. How else would I have known that Bo hit a 410 foot broken bat home run!

1993 Pinnacle #524

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Purchased at Show
Pinnacle was a fantastic brand put out by the Score brand. This was their premium card and it definitely felt that way with the thicker card stock, glossy coating and foil stamped logo on the front. Not only was it nicely designed, but the photos were nice too. Look at that shot of Bo watching as he smacks the cover off another poor victim. The backs also featured a shot not unlike what the Leaf Studio cards featured on their cards. The stats are lacking, but at least they give current and career numbers. Overall a very good looking card from a solid set.

1993 Leaf Studio #110

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Traded For
I really like the simple & classy design Leaf typically used for their Studio line of premium cards. The photos are nice, the backgrounds are clean and the foil signature on the front is always a nice touch. The one thing you will probably never see from this series is actual player statistics. If you are a numbers guy, this set is not for you. If you want to know that Bo's pet peeve is racism this set is a must have!

1989 Donruss #208

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Pulled From Pack
Now here is a real oddity for a Bo Jackson card! Is that Bo getting ready to bunt? That never happens! Bo is always posed ready to the strike the ball with all his might! I would love to know what game this image was from and if Bo did indeed lay down an action packed bunt? Anyway, the design of this card is nice. I like the composition of the picture and the colorful graphics on the border. The back is typical Donruss. Lots of stats, but not much else.
