I was always interested in these Leaf cards from the 80s. They looked just like the Donruss cards we would collect, but they had the Leaf logo on them. I always wondered why this was? I did some digging and found out that the Finland based company Huhtamaki purchased Donruss, Leaf Candy Company and Beatrice US Confections in 1983. Shortly thereafter they merged the three companies into Leaf Inc. In the US they used the established Donruss name for baseball cards, but in Canada they released the same cards under the Leaf name! Mystery solved!!!
