2005 Leaf Certified Materials #FG-10

Type: Jersey Card
Acquired: Bought Online
This is a really nice looking card, really eye catching. I like how Leaf made Bo's photo black & white while the background has a mix of colors. It really makes his figure pop on the card. Also, the jersey relic viewing area is cut into the shape of home plate. I love it! The back lacks everything, except the standard authenticity verbiage. Since there were only 100 of these cards produced, I am glad it is in my collection. I got #46!

1994 Donruss #173

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Bought Online
I love everything about this card! The glossy finish, the understated graphics on the front, the excellent on-base photo in addition to the dugout photo on the back! Mwha! It is perfection on cardboard. I really don't even dislike the lack of stats on the back as I usually do. It gives more space to the intense photo and that I can deal with...just this once!

1994 Score #513

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Bought Online
The design of this set was very unique and unusual to me back when it was released in 1994. I like the clean design and the little "computer" inspired graphics are totally 90's. The backs were nice and feature a nice candid shot of the player, full stats, a recap of Bo's triumphant return to the game after hip surgery and a quote from Frank "The Big Hurt" Thomas, make this card an excellent addition to my Bo card collection!

1991 Starting Lineup No#

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Bought Online
I was a huge fan of the Starting Lineup action figures back in the 90's. I collected the NY Jets team players and some of the first figures I owned were of Ken O'Brien, Freeman McNeil & Al Toon. Once I realized Bo had a few incarnations in the series, I had to have them. It was years later, but I searched for and purcahsed most of the football & baseball Bo figures online and they are still in my collection today. If you are unfamiliar with these toys, each figure came packaged with a card and another gimmicky item like a poster or silver coin. I loved the coins, they were so cool, but the cards were actually really well done also! These cards from Kenner could hold there own on a shelf next to any product put out by Topps, Donruss & Fleer back in the day. The photography is solid, they included multiple photos of each player and the bacs included full stats with a faux autograph! It would be cool if they created some figures of current players in the old school Starting Lineup style. I would buy those up!

1991 Odd Ball NO#

Type: Oddball Card
Acquired: Bought At Show
And...we are back to some bootleg oddball cards or as some refer to them "Broder's". These cards are unlicensed and were everywhere in the 90's. They are worth as much as you want to pay for them, but damn sometimes the photos on these cards are pretty cool. This one here shows off the day Bo was announced as a member of the White Sox after being released by the Royals due to hip replacement surgery. I don't hate the front graphics. They are minimal and let the photo take center stage. The back is fairly plain, but does include full baseball stats for Bo. Overall it's an unusual card that surprises with it's unique style and choice of photo.

1990 Fleer #256

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Traded With Friend
This is one of my least favorite Bo football cards. The front is pretty bland, but the shiny silver football helps to give it some pop. The photo choices are okay and the back is a crazy mix of random things. You've got the headshot in some flying circle thing, an orange/brown gradient covered by stats in a pink box. I've got nothing more to say about this cardboard catastrophe. I mean, it's not the worst card ever made, but not one of my faves of Bo on the field.

1991 Upper Deck #545

Type: Base Card
Acquired: Pulled From Pack
This card was from Upper Deck's golden age. Anything they put out, kids wanted it. They still put out great sets today, but to me nothing can match what was on store shelves in the early 90's. The front of the card has a nice action shot of Bo after making contact and ready to run the bags. The back is where this card stands out in my collection. The photo on the back shows Bo ready to throw some heat! I believe this is the only card I own that shows Mr. jackson on the mound. I wonder what kind of damage he could have done as a pitcher. I'm sure he wouldn't have been a Nolan Ryan, but I also know he would not have been a Jose Canseco!
